Celebration of “Water Conservation Day” on 19th November 2012

National Integration Day is celebrated on 19th November to mark the birth anniversary of late Mrs Indira Gandhi, the 1st woman Prime Minister of India. On this occasion Union Ministry of Water Resources has decided to celebrate “Water Conservation Day" on 19th November 2012 to create awareness regarding concern about depleting water resources & its vision for the water underlining the Ministry’s commitment to be an active contributor to the sustainability of this very important natural resource.

United Nation Declared November 10 as Malala day

The United Nations declared November 10 as Malala Day in honour of Pakistani teeenage rights activist Malala Yousafzai, who was shot in the head by the Taliban in October 2012 for advocating girls’ education.

The day 10 November marks the 30-day anniversary of the Taliban attack on the 15-year-old Malala Yousafzai, the education campaigner from Pakistan.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon asserted that Malala Yousafzai is an inspiration for girls’ education the world over.

As per the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, observing Malala day is going to build on the momentum of UN's Education First initiative and show that education is a right of everyone, and not a privilege for a few.

5 October observed as Dolphin Day in Bihar

Bihar on 5 October 2012 observed Dolphin Day. This day was observed in wake of spreading awareness for conservation of the Gangetic Dolphins the rare and endangered species that is found only in the Gangetic River System and its Tributaries.

Bihar that observed the World Wildlife Week from 2 to 8 October 2012, decided to observe 5 October as Dolphin Day every year. Sushil Kumar Modi, the Deputy Chief Minister of the state on this occasion declared that the state will come up with a Dolphin Watch Center at places where these rare aquatic species are seen.

Global James Bond Day was celebrated on 5 October 2012 to mark 50 years since the world premiere of Dr. No which introduced author Ian Fleming's sophisticated secret agent to the people. The franchise went on to produce best selling Agent 007 films. It is making legends out of actors over the last 50 years and the James Bond movie franchise have made heart-stopping thrillers.
